Why Choose HART for Aluminium

Customised Solutions Utilising Leading-Edge Technology
Hamilton Research delivers advanced aluminium smelter optimization solutions, working closely with customers to create innovative approaches that transform traditional ‘black-box’ control systems into ‘open-box’ systems tailored to specific plant requirements. In the past, Hamilton Research has enabled customers to improve current efficiency, exceeding the global average of 94%, thereby increasing productivity and overall profitability.
Our solutions enhance system life and reduce maintenance costs through reliable and robust electronic modules. Most modules offer an MTBF of over 10 years of continuous operation and an MTTR of less than 30 minutes. By optimising process control, we help lower specific power consumption, improve operational effectiveness, and enable aluminium plants to avoid unnecessary infrastructure upgrades.
Dedicated Customer Service and Technical Support
Hamilton Research has developed and supplied electronic replacement modules for legacy systems no longer supported by OEMs, with over 30 customised modules successfully deployed.
We have become a trusted partner of –
- Renukoot (1990)
- Hirakud (2000)
- Vedanta (2006)
By providing on-demand troubleshooting and solutions that ensure uninterrupted production while helping plants reduce anode effect incidents through improved process stability.

Aligning Customer Business Goals with Environmental Responsibility
Hamilton Research is committed to enhancing aluminium smelting operations through environmentally responsible optimisation solutions. Our aluminium smelter optimization solutions have successfully reduced average power consumption to 13,000–13,150 units per tonne of aluminium produced, helping customers lower specific power consumption at scale.
In addition, we have achieved significant reductions in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions during aluminium smelting. With world-class technical parameters, our systems bring anode effect frequency down to the range of 0.06 to 0.2, with anode effect duration of approximately one minute. By helping plants reduce anode effect, improve energy efficiency, and enhance production stability, our solutions lower operating costs while enabling sustainability to remain a core priority.
